The article is pretty well slanted the way Ziff paid him to slant it. Note the careful wording. For example, there's no mention of the thousands of ISP's who use Linux to run their servers. Notice also the cautious attempt to insinuate, without stating it in so many words, that Linux is somehow unstable or undependable. They cannot say that outright, because a side-by-side comparison quickly shows Linux to be far more stable than, for example, NT. Why would they (Ziff-Davis) want to downplay the role of Linux? Obvious - there are no multi-million dollar Linux advertising budgets out there. You may think I am biased against Ziff - I am. Try sometime making a list of the good, useful magazines they have bought out, ruined, and then shut down. Chances are one of your favorites was among them. Irv
