Indeed; here's an interesting explanation of the term:

Although I can't seem to find any backing info at the moment, I believe 
that MS wrote (and abandoned) a QuickBasic interpreter and I think maybe 
a compilier for Macintosh in the early days (128K - Motorola 68000) that 
was written in QuickBasic itself...

I do know it exists, anyway.  I wonder if my old Mac will still fire 
up...
