Integer indexes?

Is this a bug or a feature? 

   object X 
   sequence Y 
 
  Y = "abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz" 
 
   X = Y[2.11] 
 
   ? X

This outputs the value 'b', however I made a typo because I wanted the output to be "bcdefghijk"
