Yeah, the article (about operator precedence) I was reading it in explained exactly why.
In standard mode it is basically just emulating a 70's handheld, along with all the old flaws it had.
In scientific/programmer mode it honours precedence, and agrees with what the Eu/Phix statement ?1+2*3 prints.
