The preprocessor could then translate to ENGLISH as output.

By doing that you could add any feature you wanted as long as the output matched the way the interpreter wanted to see it.

Bernie, I do have the tool for translation the Russian code to English and the English code to Russian in bilingual EU 2.5. My version of ed.ex, red.ex, on 't' key translates win32lib and Judith IDE to Russian just for 1 second or so. And then exw_r.exe runs them in Russian OK. And red.ex (100% Russian code) translates itself to 100% English and ex.exe/ec.exe run it OK, same as ex_r.exe.
So this problem was solved years ago.
I use bilingual 2.5 constantly, ex_r.exe and exw_r.exe are rocky stable on DOS and Windows, but there is unknown bug in Linux version and it crashes.
