Thanks Micro$oft, againI've just been signing up to a new ISP. With this ISP that can only be done by using their installation CD which also (no choice) installed internet explorer. Duly installed everything, signed up, uninstalled MSIExplorer and continued as usual with Netscape. Arrrghhh I can now dial into my old ISP or the new one, no problem. On dialing they both recognize my username and password and I'm logged on. Problem when trying to receive or send e-mail neither of them accept my password. This is something that Iexplore has done, since I've come across it before. I just can't remember how I sorted it the last time. I have the same *invalid password* whether using Netscape, CuteFTP or the plain MS ftp prog. I'm having to trouble you because you're the only ones who can reply to me through the browser. Thanks for any and all help Terry

Not on my copy of ie.hlp there isn't. Tried using *find* as well, just in case but got just the usual blurb about ratings and secure sites, nothing about what associations it messes with in user.dat and system.dat. Couldn't find anything useful in Control Panel's internet settings either. By rights, MSIE should've put all the original setting back in order when it was uninstalled, but, ah, we can always dream. Thanks Terry

why didn't you just keep IE and use Netscape? Terry: Why dont you goto http://search.microsoft.com/us/dev/ and search the knowledge base for "e-mail password" You did not say what version of IE you are using. Maybe reading some of these problem reports might help you solve your problem. Bernie

Terry: I figured out what you have to do. Open IE and click on the Envelope on toolbar ( MAIL ) When you get the internet MAIL dialog open Click on the MAIL menu inside of the dialog. At the bottom is an option menu Open the options menu and SELECT the SERVER TAB. THAT's where you set your PASSWORD for pop3 account. Bernie
