------=_NextPart_000_51c2_33b0_5e40 Hi, I hope Euman doesn't mind me quoting selected snippets from a personal message. Not that there were any potentially embarassing parts, but I do plan to stick to the especially relevant ones. <snip> You will find that this is a nice looking, fast example. I did however incorporate Thomas Parslow (PatRat) irregular.ew which is awesome. .. You can run your mouse pointer around over the buttons and they'll light up for you. The next question is, do you have the time to create the graphics to make your programs look this good. </snip> Yes, the example it very interesting. My immediate reaction is, Where is The Book (that no one has gotten around to writing yet) that tells all us newbies to Windows programming and to Euphoria: a. that these sorts of things can be done (relatively easily), and b. how to do them, or at least where to look for more information? I'll take the time to create the graphics, and to learn to use those "irregular" routines. Time is not that much of an issue. The lack of clear and readily available information at crucial times might be a problem, esp. if I don't know what to ask or how to ask it. Sometimes when people shoot off their mouths (pens, keyboards, whatever) making their ignorance widely known, it's a way of (implicitly) asking for help - "I'm a bundle of talent and ambition seeking a reasonable outlet, hoping I won't have to reinvent too many wheels!" When it looks like the wheels don't exist in your little corner of the universe (Euphoria, in this case), whereas they are abundantly plentiful elsewhere, it can be scary and frustrating. <snip> BTW, if so inclined let the listserve know that you stand corrected. </snip> Well, I suppose I displayed ignorance. Obviously, I need to study the code provided. This will take me a long way, maybe all the way, toward creating look & feel, skins, whatever, for my program .. when the time comes to do that. Thanks, Euman! Thanks, Derek and Win32Lib contributors! Thanks, Thomas for irregular.ew! George, most of the information I obtained was by asking ? here on the listserve, looking at others code snippets and trial and error (MUCH TRIAL AND ERROR) Two years I spent looking thru docs and studying others. All I can tell you is stick with gut instincts where speed and program flow are concerned. I never right anything down and it's pretty obvious If you look at my codeing style but, it works. I appologise for the rudeness earlier, I've been under some stress lately and I have let it get the best of me I guess this would explain my CRITIQUE post. George I appologise and hopefully if you give me a chance to recover from this we can be friends. I guess I just wanted to finish and submit the prog myself and it made me angry that you had done this before I got to finish. Later Yall euman
