i VISITED THE SITE ;

    WHERE

     WATCOM11.ZIP
WAS RESIDING , A DAY OR SO AGO ; NOW I
    CAN'T EVEN LOCATE A SUcoolIRECTORY CALLED ~EULER ??????

    A search through http://www.yahoo.com/ isn't particularly helpful

Mr Furniss, the war ended some 55 years ago. jiri

at was not in German...

The location gives it away as prolly not German too, it's physically in
Helsingborg, outside
Stockholm somewhere.

4. Re: WAT_HAPPENNED ?

Are you certain the war ended 55 years ago ; perhaps you can tell this
to Cole and the new political party in Austria.
All of the English I know , speak only English , with an occassional
  French phrase.
On this occassion I didn't grab a world map or consult with the
 international telephone directory.
Stockholm , sounds scandanavian , 'tis swedish ; an unknown country.

This still doesn't explain why part of this site disappeared and where
  one might , eventually , locate Watcom11.zip .

Mr Furniss does not know much about anything, except ethic slurs, of
course, and he seems to be proud of it. Earlier he wrote:

Sweden, the unknown country?
I suppose u never heard of Alfred Nobel??? as in Nobel Prize?
the inventor of dynamite?? (he used his earning from that invention to
provide funds for the Nobel Prize)

I suppose u have never used an object containing a ball bearing?
Well, of course, you reach the web without a hard drive or
a floppy drive...right? (the modern ball bearing was constructed
by the Swede Sven Wingquist in 1907 and his company, SKF, is
renowned as making some of the best bearings today)

Certainly you have heard of Ericsson co.??? as in telephone???
You do have telephones where you are, right??? well, maybe that
is presumptive of me...I'm guessing its rather backwoods where
you are currently...

When I said, in my previous message, 'except ethic slurs', I, of
course, meant *ethnic* slurs. Sorry.

I have just become aware of the troubled background to Mr Furniss'
comments, and while I think I understand his feelings I just do not
agree with his choice of labels.

I must admit that my knowledge of Europe is second hand , usually
via the BBC . My perspective is 'tainted' by certain groups who
fought valiantly ; for democracy in Europe.

You're right , the notion of moral superiority is just as
inappropriate as the notion of racial or intellectual superiority.

Ethnic , do you mean ; that's rather convoluted.

I also thought the dinosaurs to be dead ; however the beasts still
seem to be alive and breathing , especially the one with the
  three horns.

Well they have , quite a few ; in rather diverse subjects though.

EU>>> Stockholm , sounds scandanavian , 'tis swedish ; an unknown

 EU>country. Sweden, the unknown country?

Unknown to me in any personal way.

EU>I suppose u never heard of Alfred Nobel??? as in Nobel Prize?
EU>the inventor of dynamite?? (he used his earning from that invention
EU>to provide funds for the Nobel Prize)

The name is familiar ; an article on this appears in the magazine
Scientific American at least once a year.

EU>I suppose u have never used an object containing a ball bearing?
EU>Well, of course, you reach the web without a hard drive or
EU>a floppy drive...right? (the modern ball bearing was constructed
EU>by the Swede Sven Wingquist in 1907 and his company, SKF, is

If I was using a palm top I might not require ball bearings ,
to make a more spherical bearing one might fabricate them in
the low gravity environment of a space station ; Silicon
crystals grown there might also be useful.

EU>Certainly you have heard of Ericsson co.??? as in telephone???
EU>You do have telephones where you are, right??? well, maybe that
EU>is presumptive of me...I'm guessing its rather backwoods where
 EU>you are currently...

Yes the name Ericsson and Isaccson are known to me , most people
here , as in Tibet ; seem to be going towards mobile communications.
We haven't installed fibre-optic cable straight to the telephone
subscribers , this is something they have planned for India .
I'd say that in quite a few ways this is a backwaters.

Cole ? The suppossed-to-be nazistic new leader of Austria is called Haider,
and he's not even in the goverment, but his party is.

Indeed, we worry a little bit, but the fact is the people didn't vote pro
nazi in Austria, the voted against the current establishment ... the big
fuzz is just a good symbolic reaction.. to set a tone.

You're reaction .. is pretty hypocrytical, considering the states are the
war country #1 .. and supplier/manifacturar of all means to kill each other.

A few years ago, in Holland, a simelar party got some seats in the 2nd
chamber, as we call it .. which is the vote area (you have the governent:
the coalition, which takes all initiative, yet all parties get to vote all
issues). This party was ignored. Made fun of it, a little, but most
importantly, it was NOT taken seriously; that is the best approach ... don't
take these people serious. So shut up about it already.

And for your information, I'm dutch holland, another 'unknown' country
since when is Sweden unknown ?) of people that don't speak english all the
time. Ohhhhh scary!

   America and Russia ; refer  Scientific American , June 2000 ;
 'The new face of WAR'.
Both were keen on getting rocket scientists from Nazi Germany.

Considering my geographical isolation , that should be easy.

I've known Dutch immigrants to this country ; one was ex-hitler
youth ; there are former SS guards living in Australia.
Holland hand a resistance movement during WWII , I believe.

A monoculture where only English is spoken , is probably , just as
undesirable as one where German only is spoken ; a thought that has
  also occurred to me.

    Until recently , many european countries , were bad colonial powers ;
something that the English, French, German and Dutch only be-grudgingly
  acknowledge.
