Hello everyone, I hope that you enjoy playing my little video game "Space Invaders TNG". My high-score to date is 24,240. If you are having technical trouble with the game - Sorry ! If the game runs too slowly ( On a 386 or slow 486 ) you can alter the source file "SI-TNG.Ex" thus :- ParticleCount = 10 -- How many bits to allocate to each explosion ParticleRadius = 10 -- How big to make each explosion It won't look as nice but it might help. I have been told that the sound fails after a while - I have not had this problem but I will see what I can do. If you are having game-play troubles here are some tips :- 1. Allways wait for your laser to reach max charge of 200 - The Invaders won't fire until you do ( Use this time to sip coffee, beer, etc ) 2. Start by shooting all Invaders of both sides first ( A bit like the original game ) 3. The faster you kill them the more they will ( understandably ) panic and move away from your gun to the side of the screen. 4. A way to lure them from the sides is to let one hit you - they will gain confidence, come out and then you can shoot them ! I have released a cut-down version of the source files for you all to play with. I didn't release the full version because I did not have JDs permission to release his sound routines - if he is happy with that I will release the current version (V1.02). I got the impression from the Euphoria Web-site that RDS want's Euphoria to replace Java - Sounds good to me I hope to release a Euphoria video format using a mixture of my animation routines and JDs sound routines - I am not quite sure how feasible this is but I think it is worth trying. I wish you all a merry christmas and a happy new year - Peter Blue @ Faversham Information Technology

Hi Peter, >I didn't release the full version because I did not have JDs permission to >release his sound routines - if he is happy with that I will release the current version (V1.02). soundfx.e, sbcard.e and related includes written by myself are public domain. It`s there to be improved by others. I didn't post it here because Micheal Packard report me bugs in it as he used it in Oidzone. I didn't work on it for a while but if you solve the bug(s) I would be happy to see your solution. Sound blaster development kit is available at Creative lab web site (free download).
