Most email programs (like my Forte Agent) have an option to send the body of a message in plain ASCII text, or in MIME-compliant form. In theory, MIME should allow slightly enhanced text and attachments. And every Internet node and server should be able to deal with MIME-compatible email, since it'a a standard, right? Wrong. I used to send every email and Usenet post MIME-compliant and could not understand why my messages were filled with '=', '=4S', and other garbage. Now I've set my news/email program for plain text, and (usually) the only garbage in my posts is what I put there. For more information, read the alt.usenet.offline-reader.FAQ. Someone asked how to filter obnoxious posts. Wow - now THERE'S an ambitious Euphoria project! In the meantime, Pegasus (for Windows 3.1 and up) is free and has nifty but non-intelligent filtering. And now, back to Euphoria... -Warren Evans
