Lord Generic Productions is planning 10 shareware game releases this year, currently we're finishing up #3 and are knee deep in #4. There are so many things we'd like to do, we need some help programming these things. We're selling these, (soon, I hope!) so programmers get a cut of whatever comes in. Our production schedule is tight, about a month per game, including playtesting. Programming schedule is 2-3 weeks to full beta (complete game, fully playable), then bug fixes and play balancing as the playtesters find stuff. We have a generic game engine which handles all the graphics, scoring, switching players, etc. Most of the programming is writing AI and game specific code (what the sprites and player are doing when, what happens when something gets shot, or whatever) rather than behind the scenes stuff. So far, our last few games (StarThief, Invaders, SolarQuest) were retro-fit into the engine and playable (sorta) in only a couple of days programming. Of course, we supply all the art, game designs, screen layout, sounds, music, anything else required. If you can do systems programming and can add something we need (a midi player or modem play would be nice) we'll adjust the compensation accordingly. (the money will come pouring in any day now) If someone can dedicate around 20 hrs a week (4 hrs a night or 20hrs straight on saturdays or whatever) to such a project, e-mail me.
