David Cunny, I like the text_gui very much from what I have seen so far. One thing I did notice was that under the HELP Commands, the arrow keys scroll you through the message, but the scroll bar on the edge is not operable. This may or may not be intentional. Later. Again Thanks to ALL........

*** Reply to note of 02/13/97 15:44 the "help" list is a dummy routine. i'll replace it with a real list some time this weekend. you may also have noticed that using the mouse to scroll in the MLE causes text to be selected. page up/page down also don't clear the selected text. all these are fixed in the (unreleased) .4d version. i'll probably wait until monday until i post it, because (1) tomorrow looks like it'll be very busy, and (2) i hope to have the editor "complete" (except for split windows) by then. thanks for the bug report. -- david cuny

*** Reply to note of 02/13/97 16:27 sure. i'm not really getting much feedback on if people hate/despise the way the toolkit is put together, so I'm assuming that it's ok. (hint, hint). based on my experience in trying to code the editor using it, i've had to add quite a number of features. for example, you in 4.d you can add and remove list items much more easily. i suspect that i'll need something similar for the menus so you can dynamically build them. my guess is, once people actually start trying to code apps using it, my work will *really* be starting. -- david cuny

*** Reply to note of 02/13/97 18:16 re: good work. thanks. re: dotted lines. i stole that from someone else. i find that putting dashes across the page before every function and procedure makes it easy to scroll through the file and find what i'm looking for. this is especially true at two in the morning, when i can't remember the /name/ of the routine - heck, at that time, i'm lucky to remember my own name. -- david cuny
