1. fli player DOESN'T

I downloaded the fli player from "Official" euphoria page, and the ONLY
fli I've been able to get it to play was the one that came with it. Fli's
and flc's are my normal animation format and I am knee deep in them. I
tried 12 fli's with the RUN-ME.EX and EVERY STINKING ONE OF THEM CRASHED
WITH AN ERROR. All of my other fli players work fine with these files.
Also the one that came with it played WAY slow. You could see it drawing
the images top to bottom on my dx2-66.

I create most of my flics with 3D Studio, any fli player MUST support
files created with AUTODESK PRODUCTS.

I just changed the filename in run-me.ex, it played the first frame or two
then boom. Sometimes I got a unknown chunk size or something, and
sometimes it just blows up with the "an error was detected during the
execution of your program..." message.

Am I doing something wrong?

I don't have anything to make .FLI's with, but downloaded several from
someone named "Brian"'s homepage off of a Yahoo search of "FLI". I have
only tried one so far, but it worked.

Yes, it is fairly slow on my computer also, a dx2-66. But, he does say in
the source code he is working to make it faster.
How's oidzone going?

I have the same problem Michael, but I made a fli I created in 3dstudio
        r4 work
. I guess it has
something to be woth the color palette and the image resolution, maybe it suppor
ts only 320x200 and 256 (or
less) colors. I really dont't have time by now to test this ideas. About speed..
. hmmm... big trouble, there
is much to do... By the way... i also have a dx2 66mhz.
Any way... it's good to have "some" fli player... ;)

I don't think Peter Blue is on this mailing list yet, but you can reach him
at 101363.445 at compuserve.com. He'd probably appreciate any feedback
about files that don't work, along with the message that was produced.
I also found a .FLI that didn't work.

In play-fli.e he has comments indicating that this is just an experimental
release.

I'm sure it can be speeded up -- at least 10-20%, maybe more. Actually,
it works great on my Pentium-150. I like VENUS.FLI from the "Official"
Euphoria page better than his FACE.FLI.

what DOESN'T work great on a Pentium 150? =P duh! I think 4 frames per
second on a dx2-66 is dog slow.

What I wanna play is one of the JetFighter III anims we did for Mission
Studios... Those are WAY cool. =)
The Title sequence is a little too big to play in ram though, its around
35 megs. There are images from some of that stuff on our regular home
page http://exo.com/~lgp
