I'm sorry, Edita.
On the right hand side of the keyboard, there should be four arrow keys arranged in an inverted T.
Move the cursor to where you want to start, using either the arrow keys or the mouse.
At either end of the second row, just above the space bar, there should be two Shift keys, one on each side.
Just to the left of the space bar (the biggest key on the keyboard) there should be an Alt key.
Hold down either Shift key for normal select, or the Alt key for column select, and move the cursor to where you want to end, as above.
Actually, if selecting with the mouse, you need to hold down both Alt and Shift to achieve column select, and normal select can be done by holding down the left mouse button, no keyboard at all.
This will block select some text.
Above the arrow keys, there is a block of six function keys. The one one the lower left should be labeled "Delete". Press that one.

Block delete or block copy is very easy in edx.ex, the editor formerly known as ed.ex.

Ctrl > inserts line comments (--) for the selected block, Ctrl < removes them.
You can also use /* and */ (or --/* and --*/) around the block.

Thank you Pete,
In your help file I found:
Function keys Ctrl: Shift: ============= > <a "."> Comment <a ">"> < <a ","> UnComment <a "<">hard to follow.
When I use /* the block comment works,
But I get /* unknown command when I run the program.
Ctl < and Ctl > work though.
