There was no GNUmakefile included in edbi. 

root@anthill:/usr/share/euphoria/include/drivers/sqlite3# make -f GNUmakefile 
make: GNUmakefile: No such file or directory 
make: *** No rule to make target `GNUmakefile'.  Stop.
