Hello everyone, Since the Nategate scandal it seems that everyone has been a little ticked off, so I thought I would brighten everyone's mood with some good news! But first I want to share my cleverness at avoiding his snake-pit. First of all when I read his mail I noticed that he said his friend wrote the program... a little bell went off in my head *ding*ding*ding* ...where have I heard something like that before... hmmm. Didn't he blame the Nazigate scandal on a friend? hmmm. Analysis: Nate's says his friends do bad things Conclusion: Nate blames bad things on friends or has bad friends Action: Be wary of Nate when he mentions his friends. So I decided to wait until someone else had tried SNAKE.EXE to make sure it was safe. I didn't really think anything would come of it but I don't like to take unnecesary risks. I thought it was strange that his excuse included a prommise never to use Euphoria again.. as if that would appeal to the LIST. It's not like Euphoria was to blame in making the trojan snake. The least I would ask of him is to cease all WAN activity for at least 4 years. OK, now for the good news. I got my home computer fixed! It wasn't really broken but it locked up and rebooted alot randomly. Taking a hint from a friend I decided to check if my cpu fan was running. IT WASN'T! I finally got it turning alittle but not very well. My brother said that the bearrings were bad... do CPU fans have bearings? My dad finally fixed it with some sewwing machine oil. It spins like a top (better infact) now. How is this good news to you? Well, if you are experiencing random lockups and reboots check to make sure your CPU is being cooled propperly. Yes, turn on your comp. with the cover *OFF* *Gasp* Clean out the dust and make sure the little fan is spinning fast. OK, now for some Euphoria content: shouldn't value ("2 * 2") equal 4? instead it returns 2 Is there a way to do this (use math and logical operators from a user inputed string?) Could this be added to the next version of Euphoria? I looked at the value function in get.e and I couldn't even figure out how it works. I know that JavaScript has an eval() function. If you specify eval("2 * 2"), eval() will return 4. BASIC doesn't have this either. _________________ When it comes to programming languages, Euphoria is a cut above matt1278 at juno.com Euphoria programmer Webbers: <A HREF="mailto:prezsoft at juno.com">prezsoft at juno.com</A>, president of SoftCo.
