1. Windows 8 again grrr.

Thanks, BRyan & Derek for your sugestions.

Most of the problems are in the Windows 8 dos version.

For one thing system() dosen't work it can be replaced with system_exec(), which does work. Mkdir doesen't work can be replaced with createDirectory(). I spent a lot of time tweaking xcopy. If you buy a new laptop try to get one with Windows7 installed on it. If they make them anymore. Right now I'm working on bind and compile.

If anybody has any solutions on this let me know.

I thought your issue with system() was resolved - http://openeuphoria.org/forum/127139.wc#127139

Also, I thought binding already worked? http://openeuphoria.org/forum/127172.wc#127172

Hi Don

Is the specific problem that you want to run an eu DOS program in a DOS window on Windows 8? If thats the case, and I don't know if anyone has suggested it before, then seriously, look at DOSBOX. It can run as windows click (click on a set up icon, DOSBOX will run, and start the program you want), it has the IPX network pretty much built in, which can communicate with other DOSBOXes, even over the internet, and with a bit of tweaking I have been able to run pretty much every single one of my old games, faster and in better detail than I used to. You can also map your local drives onto the DOSBOXes drives, so you can pass files back and forth.

Of course, it's effectively pure DOS, and you may have to drop back to eu 3.1.
